Self Massage for constipation is a real thing and you should try it.

If you have been having trouble…you know….GOING, you might have to try this technique.

There is not much to this technique but you have to understand a little anatomy. This will ensure you get the most benefit.

The large intestine is the organ that we are looking to work with. So looking at the photo below we need to understand how thins flow.

From the bottom left-hand side of the photos is where waste enters. It goes up the ascending colon, across the transverse colon, down the descending colon and then eventually into your toilet.

The reason you want to know how this flows is because you can not start to move “things” from the back. We have to start these techniques at the bottom of the descending colon to give space for everything to follow.

Now that being said, you want to press the corners of your large intestine to see if you feel and pain or discomfort. This could mean that you have an impaction. My suggestion for this would be to drink 6-8 ounces of water with a teaspoon of pink sea salt. Why? Salt helps with hydration and it is one of the main ingredients in stool softeners.

This information is to help mild cases and not a cure for fecal impaction. For more information on impaction, here is an article with more detail on fecal impaction and it’s complications it can have. Click or Tap Here
